Hi,

There are different type of editor is using in application and it is really going to tough to identify in selenium. One user face problem in running IE but succeed in firefox. so I am going to tell you , how to write in ultimate editor through RC in java.

First of go through this link to get idea of ultimate editor : http://www.karamasoft.com/Samples.aspx?component=UltimateEditor

Sample snippet of code:

import com.thoughtworks.selenium.DefaultSelenium;
import com.thoughtworks.selenium.SeleneseTestCase;
import com.thoughtworks.selenium.Selenium;

public class fckEditor extends SeleneseTestCase
{
public Selenium browser;

public static void main(String arg[]) throws InterruptedException
{
fckEditor obj = new fckEditor();
obj.setUp();
}

public void setUp() throws InterruptedException
{
browser = new DefaultSelenium("localhost",4444,"*iexplore","http://www.karamasoft.com/Samples.aspx?component=UltimateEditor");
browser.start();
browser.open("http://www.karamasoft.com/Samples.aspx?component=UltimateEditor");
browser.waitForPageToLoad("30000");
browser.windowMaximize();
browser.selectFrame("UltimateEditor1i");
browser.type("//body", "this is testing <p> great </p>");
browser.selectWindow("null");
}
}

Note: You have to connect the selenium java jar and junit to this code.

This code is working fine both in IE and firefox.Modify the code according to your requirement. Enjoy it.
Best Of luck

Bye
