IDE- Cross Domain Possible? Empty IDE- Cross Domain Possible?

Thu Mar 14, 2013 10:23 pm
Can you use IDE (not WebDriver) to work across different domains?

For example, can I open up a BaseURL page, store some information from it into a variable, open a new window in a different domain and feed that variable's value into the new domain?

If yes, what commands would be required? Thanks.

I guess another way to look at this would be:

Write a test case with one BaseURL, in which you obtain the information needed and store it in a variable
Write another test case with another BaseURL and use the variable from the first test case to provide the information needed to the second URL
Encase both test cases in a test suite and run them sequentially.

Can you pass a "global" variable across the test cases? Thanks.
