I have a objects whose id value is "x:y:z"
I am not able to use this id directly css. I am observing object not identified issue.
Do I need to use any escape character before each : to treat it as a literal instead of separator

You should be able to use it as -

Code:
input[id = 'x:y:z']

You could replace input with whatever tag you have
