Unable to take screenshot - Type Cast exception Empty Unable to take screenshot - Type Cast exception

Tue Apr 01, 2014 2:32 am
I have been using selenium for 3 months. I was using selenium-java-2.39.0.jar
I have the below code to take the screenshot and it works really fine.

Code:
WebDriver d = new FirefoxDriver();
d.get("http://www.google.com");
File f = ((TakesScreenshot)d).getScreenshotAs(OutputType.FILE);
try
{
      FileUtils.copyFile(f, new File(System.getProperty("user.dir") + "/vins.jpg"));
}
catch (IOException e)
{
      e.printStackTrace();
}

As i saw some recent updates in http://docs.seleniumhq.org/download/,
I wanted to replace selenium-java-2.39.0.jar by selenium-java-2.40.0.jar

I did not do anything else. I am just associating new jar (selenium-java-2.40.0.jar) to my test and removed the old jar in eclipse.
I am getting below exception.

Code:
org.openqa.selenium.chrome.ChromeDriver cannot be cast to org.openqa.selenium.TakesScreenshot

If i remove
selenium-java-2.40.0.jar and associate selenium-java-2.39.0.jar again, it works fine.
Same issue is present selenium-java-2.41.0.jar as well.

Please note that this issue is not specific to Firefox. present for Chrome and IE as well.

What version are you all using? How did you fix the above issue?
Please clarify.
