proxy setting for firefox Empty proxy setting for firefox

Sun Apr 03, 2011 2:49 am
trying to launch google via selenium through java program(below)
public class test4 extends SeleneseTestCase {
@Before
public void setUp() throws Exception {
selenium = new DefaultSelenium("localhost", 4444, "*firefox", "http://www.google.co.in/");
SeleniumServer seleniumServer =
new SeleniumServer();
seleniumServer.start();
selenium.start();
}

@Test
public void testTest4() throws Exception {
//selenium.setTimeout("100000");
selenium.open("/");
selenium.type("q", "http://www.designsul.pt/");
selenium.click("link=designsul | vitanews | fonte natural de ideias ...");
}

@After
public void tearDown() throws Exception {
selenium.stop();
}

}

if iexplore is passed as parameter to the selenium constructor, desired result is rendered by executing the test cacse

if firefox is passed as parameter, following exception is rendered

com.thoughtworks.selenium.SeleniumException: Timed out after 30000ms
at com.thoughtworks.selenium.HttpCommandProcessor.throwAssertionFailureExceptionOrError(HttpCommandProcessor.java:100)
at com.thoughtworks.selenium.HttpCommandProcessor.doCommand(HttpCommandProcessor.java:94)
at com.thoughtworks.selenium.DefaultSelenium.open(DefaultSelenium.java:343)
at test4.testTest4(test4.java:22)

though prior browser launch(programatically), proxy is set..it is cleared during the runtime
have also verified pref.js..settings available but not getting effected
If browser is launchd via IDE..browser settings are effected
have tried firefoxproxy as well..no success

ie doesnt have such issues..Please help get around the issue
