case insensitive & white spaces for alert messages
Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:14 pm
If there expected alert msg is "Hi, How are you?" & if actual alert msg is "hi, how Are you?" then
assertEquals("Hi, How are you?", $this->getAlert()); should return true, with some warnings or any otherkind of information to tell just there is ignorable assertion. or how can we use regexp here?
Does selenium satisfy above requirement ?

hi,
use in target textfield as
regexp: (?i)Hi,How are you?
You just put the flag (?i) in your regular expression and everything to the right of it will be case-insensitive:
Try this and see will it work. best of luck.

Actually I have a text field, if form is submitted without entering any thing in the textbox, an alert msg comes "Please enter some value"
If I try assertAlert | Please enter some value, its fine.
I want to ignore case of alert msg.
Now I m trying assertAlert | regexp:(?i)please Enter some value, its throwing an error [Unexpected Exception: message -> invalid quantifier ?) ],
what do you mean by target text field here?

hi,
use like this
assertAlert | regexp:(P|p)lease enter some value, its fine.
or
assertConfirmation| regexp:(P|p)lease enter some value, its fine.
this will match first character as case sensistive , if you want full word use like this (PLEASE}please).
Hope this will work now. Best of luck.
