How to get Element id or Xpath in selenium rc

Hi All,

Am new to selenium rc, i need to know how to get xpath or css selectors for an Element, i tried using xpather and i passed xpath value for username textfield in gmail site as id('Email'),

Element not found Error is displayed, anyone help me to find the xpath for Element id...

If you want to determine XPath of an element, you can use Firebug to Firefox.
For username textfield in Gmail I get:

//*[@id="Email"]
You can also write:
Code:
//input[@id="Email"]

In firefox there is firepath another plugin very good for to take xpath element. Wink

Another good firefox add-on is 'XPath Checker'.
