Can Selenium go to the Email Box and get the Content

I have been using Selenium RC for testing my web application and part of my application flow when the user clicked on the button the confirmation code will be generated and send it to the user email and with the received email the user has to to enter the confirmation code and so the user can be navigated whch ever the page it is suppose to be.

So i was wondering , is there anyway that selenium can go to the users Email Box(Lotus Notes) and get the content and then enter at the text box? and that way there wont be any manual intervention and everything can be automated!!!

It cannot go in lotus notes or outlook as selenium is for windows based apps only.

It can check gmail and yahoo
