how to test search suggestions(ajax) in google?

I am having the below problem. This is very elementary so please bear with me.

I am typing "energy" in google search and i am trying to verify the search suggestions that comes up in ajax. When i am running the below script, it fails since the search suggestions are not displayed on screen after i have typed energy. Please let me know what i am doing wrong here.
