on MAC , Unable to insert Text on choose filename BOX web browser,it open explorer immidiattly

when running the following from eclipse with selenium ON MAC
driver.findElement(By.id("targetImgFile")).sendKeys("JustAText");
it is not inserted and when manually i pressed this text Contol it open the Finder automatically
On windows PC i was able to insert the text
is there anyway i can bypass it
the Browser is firefox

- insert text in a text box of the console
- Issues with IE close browser, Firefox window focus. unable to get screenshots any browser
