How to detect if the content of a website changed ?
Mon Mar 14, 2016 7:16 pm
Hi,
I am new to Selinium and using it's firefox plugin IDE. I have requirement to continually monitor a website and identity if there is a change in the content of a DIV. Is it possible ? If yes, can anybody please provide such a test case ?
Thanking you in advance,
Iqbalmp.

there are certain ways by which you can verify theĀ browser content :
1. get the view source of the page and compare the text.
2. If you want to verify all DIV content, get count to total DIV, create a generic xpath for DIV and loop until all traversed, store the value and compared with expected.
3. use third party tool which gives you all content of the web page, store it in some file and compare the actual and expected files.
Hope this will help you in deciding the approach.
