How to solve problem for dynamic ID changes using selenium

Post by Saravanakumarm1986 on Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:42 pm

Hi guys, I executed the Test cases first time without any error. I am executing same test cases second time, its getting failed bcoz dynamic id is changed for element. For example Save button

First Time : "id=view:elementWrapper:NotesView:dynamic_id76:elementContents:Button_1
Second time :"id=view:elementWrapper:NotesView:dynamic_id87:elementContents:Button_1

Currently i am facing this issue for element id, First time is executing id=76 but second time executing id =87. How we can solve this.Anyone can help.

Hi,

Why not using XPath as locators for this case instead of element id?
