How to capture an AJAX request with SeleniumRC test? Empty How to capture an AJAX request with SeleniumRC test?

Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:54 pm
Hi!

I don´t know how to capture a data of an AJAX request in a Selenium test.

First, I export the SeleniumIDE test code to JAVA (junit4 - Remote Control). Then I configure an Eclipse project and run the test with SeleniumRC. Well, there is a button in the web where an AJAX request loads a menu, when you press it. I need a data of this menu and Selenium only generate a click command. And nothing loads in the navigator when I run the test.

I try it adding an user extension in my Junit project with the next function but it doesn´t work:

Selenium.prototype.doWaitForAjaxRequest = function(timeout) {
return Selenium.decorateFunctionWithTimeout(function() {
if (selenium.browserbot.getUserWindow().Ajax.activeRequestCount == 0) {
return true;
}
return false;
}, timeout);

Other option I see is to use Selenium WebDriver, but I see the same problem. Somebody help me, please? Thanks!

Ok, I found a simple solution:

Selenium captures the AJAX request, only needs more time on the run: Thread.sleep(time) before the selenium.click command is a simple solution.

I think sleep time will depends of the web application that you´re testing.

Bye!
