Using dynamically created IDs from websites
Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:58 pm
Hello!
I am really new into testing with Selenium IDE, so this will be the first of several entries learning the basics.
I created several tests for different web-applications. These websites use unique IDs for login- and logoff-events of course. They change every time a user is logging in or off.
Now my question:
Is it possible to teach Selenium IDE to use a dynamic ID instead of the static I recorded before?
The IDE is always using my recorded ID and not the one which was provided by the page.
Thanks in advance!
All the best,

Please, post the recorded lines to know how we can do that
- Asserting data contained in a dynamically created table
- InternetExplorerDriver working on some websites but not on others in the same machine
- How to get the Targets of the newly Created user
- How to locate dynamic id's created for checkbox in webdriver
- Locating dynamic IDs generated when a new Directory is created !
