Automating web application with hidden source code
Wed May 23, 2012 7:55 pm
I have been using Selenium RC to automate testing of web applications and run data driven test cases. I was able to generate XPaths using the IDE or viewing the source code from the browser.
However, I'm trying to automate a 3rd Party internal application for which Selenium RC does not identify the controls that have been captured by the IDE. The source code is not available, browser options are disabled and developer tools do not work as it generates a new browser window after logging in.
Is Selenium still an option for such a case?

since selenium tests only web applications, able to capture xpaths by using various add-ons in FF like fire path, xpather etc.,
every selenium IDE captured codes can be exported in required formats which can be used in RC. either, can able to key-in codes directly RC.
