How do I extract a string using regexp?
Tue Feb 05, 2013 8:04 am
I need to find a string somewhere on a page and then store the matching string to a variable so I can echo it to the log, branch on it, etc.
The page can have a variable number of lines, but somewhere on one of the lines is a string like " price code nnnn " where n is a digit. How do I get that into a variable?
The regexp would be something like:
/(^.*)(\sprice code\s\d{4}\s)([\s\S]*)/$2/m
In Perl I would easily grab subgroup $2, but I cant seem to replicate this in the IDE (natively or by calling javascript).
Any help?
Thanks,
Eric
