Add step to log file

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new with selenium so maybe my questions are funny ;-)....but anyway!
In my former company we used testcomplete to automate our tests so , we used to add a a step description to our result log for each step

so.
1. start browser
2. click login button
------

How can I do the same with selenium ? I'm using junit
