Need help in xPath
Sun Apr 05, 2015 3:09 am
Hi,
I am using www.nextag.com as an example.
I am trying to perform following steps using selenium:
-Visit website
-Search for kindle
-Once land on search result page verify label "Narrow Search Results".
I am using following code:
driver.manage().timeouts().implicitlyWait(10, TimeUnit.SECONDS);
WebElement element = getDriver.findElement(By.id(locator));
String labelText = element.getText();
Locator value is xPath value. I have tired following xpath, also verified that these xPath values are correct.
Relative xPath:
//*[@id='search_results_content_id']/div[4]/div[2]/div[2]/span
Absolute xPath:
/html[@class=' js csstransforms3d csstransitions']/body/div[@id='searchPage_mainDiv']/div[@id='search_results_content_id']/div[@class='sr-content-container ']/div[@class='srLeftRail']/div[@class='sr-refine-container']/span[@class='nlaHding']
However, every time I am getting error : no such element
Can anyone please help me?
I am not sure what wrong with selenium webdriver or am I missing something? Please suggest.
Thanks,
Ashvini

Try this : //span[text()='Narrow Search Results']
