Getting started with Selenium Empty Getting started with Selenium

Hi all,


I am a complete newbie when it comes to Selenium and want to automate a webapplication. The application itself is not complex. It's a visualisation of our clients and there clientfiles. There are some screens to perform some searches on certain search criteria to search for our clients, some screens to create new clients and clientfiles, etc etc

I would like to automate some of the functions using selenium however I am a little confused on how to get started. Some tutorials, explanations on internet use TestNG with annotations, other use plain Java without TestNG. What is the way to go ?
