Webdriver does not open the url.

I am trying selenium webdriver with python. When I try to run the python program, it starts the Firefox browser, but does not open the url.
I have installed webdriver for python from the source.
Can anyone help me with this? If you could give a step by step instruction to setup the whole thing again, it would be great. I am missing some steps, probably.

You can download new selenium jar file.
