Error with Alert
Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:58 pm
When I recorded an script with alerts the Selenium IDE save the command assertAlert with the message of that alert in target.
When I play this script this command fails and the button OK isn't pressed!
Both in Selenium IDE or Selenium RC
I need to click in the button ok inside alert window with a selenium command.
For me assertAlert doesn't work because the button OK in popup isn't pressed
For example, for this html
alert("AEEE!!")
BLABLABLA
The recorded script in Selenium IDE is
open
file:///home/bmoura/alert.html
click
link=BLABLABLA
assertAlert
XPTO!
click
link=BLABLABLA
assertAlert
XPTO!
click
link=BLABLABLA
assertAlert
XPTO!
How can I do for selenium IDE execute the mouse press in OK button of the first popup
with text AEEE!! ?
Now, the popup stay until the timeout finish and the script stop.
Thanks for your help!
Best Regards
Bruno

hi,
check out this thread for solving your problem:
https://seleniumforum.forumotion.net/selenium-ide-discussion-f3/how-to-handle-an-alert-message-t46.htm?highlight=alert
NOTE: under Selenium, JavaScript alerts will NOT pop up a visible alert
dialog.
NOTE: Selenium does NOT support JavaScript alerts that are generated in a
page's onload() event handler. In this case a visible dialog WILL be
generated and Selenium will hang until someone manually clicks OK.
Try another command describe in this post and let me know.
Best Of Luck.
Bye

@Bera
Hope this might help you.
selenium.chooseOkOnNextConfirmation();
selenium.click("b1"); //b1 is the button name/id
System.out.println("Alert1 " + selenium.getAlert()); //to make sure if alert is stored.
