Leave firefox open for various scenarios

Hi All,
in our project we have the situation that we use more than 300 test cases which are executed via fitnesse and selenium rc. the problem is that every single test case expects a browser open with initialisation(begin of test case) and a browser close(end of test case). That costs a lot of time and I try to find a solution to keep the browser open for the execution of the next test case.
Anyone knows a solution for that issue?
